What a general transcript looks like

Each speaker is labelled, each turn is punctuated as normal sentences, and the words are the ones that were said. We keep repetitions and false starts and leave out hesitation sounds such as um and uh, so the transcript reads cleanly without being rewritten.

Words that can't be made out are marked [inaudible] with a timestamp. They are never guessed, so you can always go back to the recording and check.

Priced by how hard the audio is

Every recording is graded A to D before you pay. Clear and fair audio (A and B) costs the standard rate; difficult audio costs more only on the recordings that need it, and you see each grade and the reason on your quote.

Transcripts are accurate to the audio: what's written is what was said. If one falls short, we re-edit it free within 48 hours, and any refund is considered case by case.

How your price is set

You pay for the work your recording actually needs, and you see why before you pay.

  1. Measured

Each recording is measured to the second. You pay per audio minute, rounded up once per order, never per file.

  2. Graded A to D

Every recording is graded on how hard it is to transcribe: how clearly the words come through, background noise, recording level, distortion and overlapping speakers.

  3. Shown before you pay

Your quote lists each recording's grade and the reason. Think a grade is wrong? Email us before paying and a person checks it.

  4. Accurate to the audio

What's written is what was said. If a transcript falls short, we re-edit it free, and every grade gets free corrections for 14 days. How the guarantee works

  • Grade A · ClearClose microphone, little noise, one voice at a time.Standard rate
  • Grade B · FairSome noise or distance, still easy to follow.Standard rate
  • Grade C · DifficultNoisy room, distant speakers or frequent crosstalk.+30%
  • Grade D · Very difficultHeavy noise, distortion or long unclear stretches.+70%

General transcription — questions

How long does general transcription take?

Standard delivery is 2–3 business days from payment. Rush delivery within 24 hours adds 50%.

Do you transcribe accents?

Yes. Our editors work with English as it's spoken in East Africa, the UK, the US and beyond. Grades come from the recording itself (clarity, noise, distance, crosstalk), and you see each grade and its reason before you pay.

Can I send a YouTube or Google Drive link?

Yes. Paste a YouTube, Google Drive or Dropbox link in the upload form and we import the file for you.

What if I'm not sure which service I need?

Choose "Not sure yet" in the upload form. You'll see an estimate at the general rate, and we confirm the right service with you before you pay.

Send your recordings and see the price
