Tell us your labelling scheme when you upload: participant codes, a moderator and note-taker, or roles such as NURSE and CAREGIVER. We use it on every file in the study, so transcripts line up when you code them side by side.
Send your interview guide or a glossary of local terms, place names and acronyms with the files. Supporting documents are free and never billed, and they are how specialist terms come out right the first time.
Recordings are uploaded over an encrypted connection and stored encrypted. Only the people working on your order can open them. Audio and video are deleted 90 days after upload, or sooner if you ask, and we don't use your recordings or transcripts to train AI models.
Tick the confidentiality agreement (NDA) box when you upload and it arrives by email for you to accept. If your ethics committee asks how transcription is handled, our Security and Privacy pages set out the measures in place and the ones still in progress, so you can quote them accurately.
For recordings that identify participants by name, consider de-identifying before upload or asking us to label names by role. For health research with patients, read the medical notice below before sending anything.
Every recording is graded and priced before you pay, so you know the cost of a batch up front. Pay online by card or M-Pesa; your receipt shows the amount in US dollars for reimbursement. Standard delivery is 2–3 business days.
Transcripts are accurate to the audio. If one falls short, we re-edit it free within 48 hours, and any refund is considered case by case.
You pay for the work your recording actually needs, and you see why before you pay.
Each recording is measured to the second. You pay per audio minute, rounded up once per order, never per file.
Every recording is graded on how hard it is to transcribe: how clearly the words come through, background noise, recording level, distortion and overlapping speakers.
Your quote lists each recording's grade and the reason. Think a grade is wrong? Email us before paying and a person checks it.
What's written is what was said. If a transcript falls short, we re-edit it free, and every grade gets free corrections for 14 days. How the guarantee works
Our published rates are for English recordings. For Swahili, Sheng or interviews that switch between languages, email us before you upload and we'll tell you whether we can take them on and at what price.
Yes. Tell us when you upload and we label people by role or code instead of name. We transcribe what's on the recording, so the safest option is still to avoid names on the recording itself.
Choose DOCX. Each file opens as one document with speaker labels at the start of every turn, which NVivo, ATLAS.ti and MAXQDA can read and auto-code by speaker.
