Terms checked, not guessed

Medical vocabulary is where automatic drafts slip. Editors check every drug name, dosage and unit against the recording, and anything that can't be confirmed is marked [inaudible] with a timestamp instead of being guessed.

What we can and can't accept

We do not currently sign HIPAA Business Associate Agreements, so please don't upload recordings containing US patients' protected health information. De-identified recordings are welcome. For any other recording that identifies patients, email us before you upload so we can confirm we can take it on.

How your price is set

You pay for the work your recording actually needs, and you see why before you pay.

  1. Measured

Each recording is measured to the second. You pay per audio minute, rounded up once per order, never per file.

  2. Graded A to D

Every recording is graded on how hard it is to transcribe: how clearly the words come through, background noise, recording level, distortion and overlapping speakers.

  3. Shown before you pay

Your quote lists each recording's grade and the reason. Think a grade is wrong? Email us before paying and a person checks it.

  4. Accurate to the audio

What's written is what was said. If a transcript falls short, we re-edit it free, and every grade gets free corrections for 14 days. How the guarantee works

  • Grade A · ClearClose microphone, little noise, one voice at a time.Standard rate
  • Grade B · FairSome noise or distance, still easy to follow.Standard rate
  • Grade C · DifficultNoisy room, distant speakers or frequent crosstalk.+30%
  • Grade D · Very difficultHeavy noise, distortion or long unclear stretches.+70%

Medical transcription — questions

Can I send recordings of US patients?

Only if they're de-identified. We don't sign HIPAA Business Associate Agreements today, so please don't send recordings containing US patients' protected health information. De-identified recordings are welcome; for any other recording that identifies patients, email us before you upload so we can confirm we can take it on.

Do you use a medical speech model?

Yes. Medical orders get a first draft from a speech model tuned for clinical vocabulary, before the human edit and quality check.

Can I send a glossary?

Yes, and we recommend it. Supporting documents such as drug lists or study protocols are free and help names come out right.
