How your price is set

You pay for the work your recording actually needs, and you see why before you pay.

  1. Measured

Each recording is measured to the second. You pay per audio minute, rounded up once per order, never per file.

  2. Graded A to D

Every recording is graded on how hard it is to transcribe: how clearly the words come through, background noise, recording level, distortion and overlapping speakers.

  3. Shown before you pay

Your quote lists each recording's grade and the reason. Think a grade is wrong? Email us before paying and a person checks it.

  4. Accurate to the audio

What's written is what was said. If a transcript falls short, we re-edit it free, and every grade gets free corrections for 14 days. How the guarantee works

  • Grade A · ClearClose microphone, little noise, one voice at a time.Standard rate
  • Grade B · FairSome noise or distance, still easy to follow.Standard rate
  • Grade C · DifficultNoisy room, distant speakers or frequent crosstalk.+30%
  • Grade D · Very difficultHeavy noise, distortion or long unclear stretches.+70%

Accurate to the audio, or we fix it

What's written is what was said. On recordings graded A or B we hold ourselves to 99% on every passage that can be heard clearly, a guarantee we measure rather than just claim. If a transcript falls short, send us three or more examples with timestamps within 14 days of delivery. A reviewer who didn't work on your order checks it against the recording, and if it falls short we re-edit it free within 48 hours. If the re-edit still isn't right, we look at a refund case by case.

Grade C and D recordings get the same care and free corrections, without the 99% measure, because difficult audio can make some words impossible to confirm. Unclear words are always marked [inaudible] with a timestamp, never guessed. Read the full terms.

Pricing questions

Do accents cost more?

Not as such. The grade comes from the recording itself: how clearly the words come through, background noise, level, distortion and crosstalk. A clear recording with a strong accent is priced like any clear recording. You see each grade and its reason before you pay, and if you think one is wrong, a person checks it.

Do you charge per file?

No. You pay per audio minute across the whole order, rounded up once, with a $3.00 minimum order.

Are speaker labels and timestamps extra?

No. Speaker labels are always included, and timestamps are included at no extra cost for now.

Is the quote final?

Yes. Nothing is added after payment without your agreement, and a quote holds for 7 days.
